Frequently Asked Questions
What is teletherapy?
Teletherapy is a speech-language therapy provided online through a private, secure video platform. It allows you to connect from the comfort of your home while receiving the same personalized, evidence-based care as in-person sessions.
Who can benefit from teletherapy?
Teletherapy works well for both adults and children. It’s especially convenient for clients with mobility challenges, busy schedules, or those living in rural areas. As long as you have reliable internet connect and a quiet space, therapy can be just as effective.
Do you accept insurance?
At The Neuro Nook, my goal is to provide therapy that truly serves you — not a system. Insurance companies often set strict limitations on how often therapy can occur, what goals can be targeted, and even how progress is defined. These restrictions can interfere with providing the individualized, meaningful care that every person deserves.
By operating privately, I am able to:
design therapy around your unique needs, not preset to codes or time limits.
focus on quality over quantity, allowing sessions to be flexible and purposeful
support you as a whole person, rather than just treating isolated skills
collaborate freely with caregivers, physicians, and other professionals as needed — without waiting for insurance approvals.
What are your rates?
Evaluations: $250 for 75 minutes
Treatments: $70 for 45 minutes
Cognitive Small Groups: $20 for 20 minutes
Evaluations and treatments include both direct treatment and indirect time (i.e., billing, documentation, etc). You will receive a Good Faith Estimate before beginning services so there are no surprises.
What are my payment options?
Private Pay (i.e., credit card via SimplePractice)
Private Pay + Superbill
Yes! I can provide a “Superbill” for you to submit to your insurance for an “Out of Network” claim to be reimbursed for your visits.
Do you offer in-person therapy?
At this time, The Neuro Nook is offering services exclusively through secure, HIPAA-complaint teletherapy. If in-person sessions are preferred, please don’t hesitate to reach out — I’m happy to discuss options or future availability.
What technology do I need for teletherapy?
You’ll just need a computer, tablet, or smartphone with a camera, microphone, and a reliable internet connect. I’ll send a secure link for your sessions and no downloads are required. Anyone can do it!
What states are you licensed in?
I am currently licensed to provide speech-language pathology services in West Virginia and New Hampshire. I’m always opening to expanding licensure to additional states should there be a need — please reach out if you’re located elsewhere and interested in services. This is just one of the perks of teletherapy!
